Moving On
So after being in California for almost two years now (WOW I can't believe it has really been that long) I have decided that I need a change. My old roommate approached me almost two months ago. She is moving back in town and wondered if I would be interested in moving into a new place with her and we would get Ashley and Larissa to come with us. Every night I wind up staying up way too late looking on craigslist for new places and I have emailed a bunch of people . . . and you would think that if people really wanted to rent a place out they would email a person back. . . . I don't think I have gotten one response back yet . . . isn't that sad?? While I don't think it is the most practical time for me to move on . . . I need to move on. But with change comes challenges . . . . Which I don't like necessarily, but aren't they supposed to be good for us??

Behind
So I've noticed that I am just about as bad at blogging as I am at keeping in touch. Don't get me wrong I seem like I am pretty good about it . . . but I am only good about it in small doses. Then people will email me and I'll think . . . oh I'll do it later . . . then later never happens. So I've discovered this past week.
Well I promised a last post that I would post the Jimmy Choo picture and I never did. Well that was partly because I never downloaded the pictures . . . So I finally did the other day and as promised here is the picture

So one of my roommates moved out last week and we are trying to fill the spot. I know what you are thinking . . . Again?? Yes, again. But when you have four roommates . . .it seems to happen. Anyway so I walked into the empty room the other day and I thought to myself . . . I really ought to paint this and fix the paint that chipped of the edge of the wall.
So today after work I was off to Home Depot. . . . I love that store by the way. What I was thinking was going to be a cheap inexpensive task was definitely not what it was. Or so I figured out when I walked down the paint isle and discovered that 1 gallon of paint was $30. SERIOUSLY!! Didn't see that one coming. An hour later I walked out with all the supplies needed and feeling a little poorer and I called my mom and she said, "Sorry, Home Improvement is not cheap." If only it was actually my place so I could feel some sense of ownership. Anywho I will have to take pictures of my Home Improvement venture and post them later. Ta ta for now.

Ode to Jimmy Choo Shoes Part 2
Okay . . . . so after sleeping on it and talking to a million people . . . I still really wanted the shoes . . . . I had made up my mind. I was going to buy them. I came home and I took my accomplice with me to buy my shoes. Plus I had a $10 off coupon from DSW so they were even cheaper. Here are some

Ode to Jimmy Choo Shoes
First of all . . . sorry it has been so long since I blogged. Got distracted with other things. So tonight I went to the movies with my roommate Amanda. We had decided to bypass and avoid the Institute activity and go see Confession of a Shopaholic. Which by the way was totally cute and I totally recommend it. Anyway since it was opening night we
had decided to go early to make sure we got our tickets. Since we were already there and had some time to kill we decided to get some Ice Cream at Coldstone and then we wandered into one of my favorite stores, DSW. I needed new work shoes so it was a great diversion. While out on the regular floor I wasn't spotting anything that was really jumpping out to me and so we decided to go back to that wonderful little roo
m in the back that has all the for sale shoes from 40% off to 80% off. What a wonderful little room. Amanda was totally stoked because she never knew the room existed. We started looking and all of the sudden Amanda spotted some blue Marc by Marc Jacobs shoes. They were totally cute. I still think she should have bought them. These were 80% off which made them like eighty dollars. To some this may seem a lot of money for shoes, but for Marc Jacobs shoes they are totally cheap. Amanda decided against them and we kept looking . . . . all of the sudden I spotted the holy grail of shoes. I spotte
d some red high heel Jimmy Choo's that were also 80% off. Do you realize how rare this is? They were very much like the ones I have posted in this blog, but they were red. They were totally cute and I totally fell in love. I immediately took them to Amanda to have her help me figure out the math. . . . $120 and that was 80% off the original price. I had never spent that much on a pair of shoes. It made a lump rise up in my throat. Totally rare to find a pair of Jimmy Choo's for $120, but totally not what I have EVER paid for a pair of shoes. I then proceeded to call friends and text friends for their imput . . . . most were saying wow, but also saying . . . walk away. Amanda on the other hand was totally telling me to get them. They were totally cute and totally comfy. Finally I hear them turn off the music. I aske
d a girl that was working there . . . "are you closing?" Sure enough, they were . . . I had to make a decision. I finally decided to walk away. I knew I was going to totally have buyers remorse over this if I bought them. The store closed and I was Jimmy Choo-less. We wound up wandering over to Nordstrom Rack where I found more Jimmy Choo's but they were much mo
re expensive and finally found a pair of practical flats for work for $30. $90 less than my beloved Jimmy Choo's. We then went to see the movie which made me feel better about walking away from the shoes. They are a want . . . not a need. I can do a lot more with that money . . . . but I will always think back to the day that I almost owned a pair of Jimmy Choo's , and one of these days I WILL own a pair. Ta ta for now.

Student Loans Forgiven??
So I was pretty proud of myself because I only managed to take out two student loans during my college career. I can thank my parents and uncle sam for that. When I got home from my mission who knew that all of the sudden when you turn 24, you no longer have to claim your parents on your FASFA forms and all of the sudden I would be considered in poverty level. Which is something I never understood in the first place. Why do you have to claim your parents on your FASFA form in the first place if they have no intentions on helping you with school. My parents always wanted us to pay for our education. I think they felt we would value it more if we paid for it ourselves. Which I think I totally do value it more. Well when I first came home from my mission . . . I didn't have a penny to my name. My mom insisted on having me go to BYU. They wound up paying for school while I was down there and to be honest that was a really hard pill to swallow because before my mission I was used to paying for everything myself. To this day I am eternally grateful that they did. Somehow I am going to make it up to them
Anyway once I turned 24 I no longer had to claim my parents on my FASFA forms and all of the sudden the most miraculous thing happened. Uncle Same considered me to be in poverty level and started giving me grants. Which was great, but it didn't always pay for everything. Needless to say I took out two school loans during my educational career. One was a loan done through the school and one was done through the state. Well the state one loan payments kicked in 6 mos after I graduated and the school one loan payments kicked in 9 mos after I graduated. It wasn't too bad. usually they were about $50 a month.
Well the other day I got a letter from the state loan offices. I didn't bother to open it right away be
cause I just assumed that it was my bill that I get every month. Well today I finally opened this letter and I realized it wasn't my bill. It was a letter saying "We are pleased to inform you that the remaining balance of your student loan(s) listed in the table below has been forgiven as a way of thanking you for taking care of your loan obligation in a diligent manner. Within 2 to 3 weeks UHEAA will send you a document indicating the paid in full status of the loan(s)." Is this some sort of joke. I'm mean sure if you want to forgive them I'm fine with that, but seriously. What is the catch. I have paid around half of my loan back and that is just it . . . it is forgiven. I feel that is wierd in some way. But in the same sense . . . . great!! That is $50 I can use elsewhere

So here it is: It was my friend, Lisa's Birthday and we rented out a little duffy boat and cruised around Newport Harbor and had dinner on the boat. This is a picture of my friend Emily. Not very exciting I know. I'm tagging Cara, Jaclyn, & Mindy. Do if you would like. If not that is fine. It's fun to see old pictures.
